Let myself go surfing. 社員をサーフィンに行かせよう。

I recently read "let my people go surfing" by the founder of Patagonia, Yvon Chounard. It sounds good.

The message behind is to make a person responsible in what her/imself does. A person does not have to ask her/is own boss if s/he can go home, surfing or do whatever else, since a person is responsible in controlling ones own tasks. We can have no excuse, e.g. I could not go camping with my family because of my job. Instead, we do our job and go camping.

最近パタゴニア創始者、イヴォンシュナイダーの”社員をサーフィンに行かせよう”をとても興味深く読みました。

社員は休暇に行っても良いか、いつからいつまで会社にいなければいけないかということを上司に訊かなくてもよい。自分の仕事スケジュールの管理は自分で責任を持ってする。自分だけでできない部分は責任を持って任せる。
